A D16 can run a 14 if boosted properly, and traction exists. All it takes to run a 14 with FWD is 160hp at the wheels and good shifts. Just don't ever plan on beating that, though.
Go here to test that theory...

...And as far as I'm concerned, Honda doesn't even make a "drag motor". Weigh the internals of any of their engines, and you'll see what I mean. If you want a factory drag motor, you're going to have to time-warp back to the late-60's or early 70's. Fuel economy and emissions are not building-blocks of drag racing.
A modern "drag motor" is a built motor with non-OEM internals that are designed to take extreme abuse for a few seconds. Not an economical one that's lucky enough to hold 7 PSI on stock internals, and just happens to have a turbo hanging off of it or a bottle in the trunk. The D series rotating assembly isn't built to take much abuse, and in order to make a D series a "drag motor", almost everything inside it would need reinforcement and/or replacement.
So please... wherever it came from... squash this "drag motor" talk unless you've got aftermarket forged pistons/crank/rods/ARP hardware/steel gaskets/sleeved block/dry-sump oil pan/o-ringed head and a titanium valvetrain. Nobody here has one. It's not worth arguing over. Determining which Honda engine is better for drag racing all depends on who you are trying to beat, and how much money you can burn doing it. Set goals.
