Default DOHC VTEC-wtf should I upgrade?

OK, to start off, I have a 94 DOHC VTEC, with DC 4-2-1 Header and an AEM CAI. I would prefer to have a sleeping beast... I would also love to push this engine to its limits and see what its potential really is, but I've heard different things everywhere, and so many differing opinions its driving me nuts. I merely need some straight advice from fellow sol owners. Some of the things I was thinking about doing in order...

Greddy cat back (although I've heard a cat back isnt worth the $$ for a sol)

Port and polish the heads or whatever (does this even help that much?)

Type R throttle body, intake cam, and Type R exhaust cam (Ooo type R, does that automatically mean its going to be a better product than, Skunk2 for example?)

Hayame or Skunk2 adjustable gears

any other engine stuff that could be replaced that would make a difference?

Supercharger someday...not sure what brand.

The engine has 133k on it currently, now I've heard here before its utterly pointless to do a swap because its too expensive. So since I would like to keep the b16, I would love to know what my options would be for increasing horsepower and torque. I know for sure I want a supercharger down the road, but that will probably be my last upgrade. Any help would be very appreciated, I'm so new to this.

cheers tho

Gatch

I would not put any kind of forced induction or nitrous on an engine with 130,000 on it. What I would do is start off by building up the bottom end. Get stronger rods and pistons. If you eventually want a s/c or turbo, drop the CR down to 9.0:1. Then down the road you can go FI and be set. If for now you want to do mods, buy things that will make sense fr when you Do get that s/c or turbo. Exhaust may seem pointles right now, but would be a must have if you go FI.

Also, there is NO point in doing a swap. The B16 you already have is one of the best engines out there to build. Instead of spending 3,000 to put in a different engine, use the 3,000 to build the one you have

Suggestion for the cams/shafts. It's some money, but I suggest Toda productions. Check out www.todaracing.com

I also think that DC sports makes a shitty exhaust manifold. You might want to get something better to help expel the exhaust from the motor. You should drop in some Type R or Endyne pistons. I personally dont want forced induction as I think all motor cars retain respect. B16's are nasty engines when built up. These guys are right. Forget the swap, beef up what you got. Hope it helped!

If you want to make some serious hp you need to check out this site. http://www.dh-racing.com

189.6 hp and 113.2 t/c to the ground with just this guys head package and throttle body. All with stock bottom end.
I have seen a car with this blow the doors off of a s/c civic si!!! :fawk:
