Default CAI vs. Short Ram

i am thinking about changing my CAI to Short RAM, my pipe came in two peices so I can change it whenever I want...

I was just wondering what the major differences are. I have heard that Short Ram sounds better, and is louder. Also that I wont have to worry about suckin up water (which im not worried about)...

And performance wise, I think short ram has less HP gain than CAI...but I know it wont be noticable anyway...

Any input would be good...

Short rams are only good when you get a JR Supercharger...for NA they are junk.

Don't drive into puddles if you are worried about hydrolocking or get an Air Bypass Valve.

I had both and truthfully I really thought both did the job. But the puddles are scary with the CAI. So its ur choice. but thats just me people do believe differntly.

Why the SR for the JRSC? Just curious cause that's my eventual goal.

Ya know.... it started raining like a BEOCH the other day here and I didn't want to repleat the last aquatic incident I had with my D15B7. So, I took my CAI off and couldn't find my stock charge pipe. What else could I do but put my filter right on my TB? h:

I haven't noticed a difference AT ALL. Of course, I have a lot done to my motor, but I wouldn't risk it man....

I've got an AEM bypass valve if you wanna buy it?

hih

the gains are like 1%. it doesn't really matter. none of 'em do crap anyways. i'd go short cause I hear it's louder.

I am not sure of the exact reaon why but JR reccomends that you use a short 3" intake. That is what gives the JR the most power.
