yes u can get a jdm motor to be smog legal in cali, as long u follow these rules:
1. The Engine must be Same Year or Newer then the Car
2.The ECU must be USDM and non JDM
3. NO JDM Wiring Harness, must also be USDM
4.Original USDM Air Intake "box" or a certified air intake with a "C.A.R.B. Sticker that is STRICTLY for the specified motor."
5.The Exhaust Manifold must be USDM and if not O.E. then must have a C.A.R.B. Sticker
6.No Adjustable FPR's are unless with C.A.R.B. sticker
7. Must have a Catalytic Converter
8.ALL USDM Smog Equipment must be functioning(o2 sensor, Check Engine light etc.)
