Default Reading my ecu?

Since I went to an OBD1 ecu from my 99 civic ex. What do I use to pull codes? OBD2 reader or an OBD1 reader? Cause the bus to pull codes in obd2?


Cause the first thing people are askin when I cal (autozone) is what kinda car and I'm like uuuhhhh well u see.... its a obd1 compter, but its a 99 civic ex. lol

can you just do the jumper wire method and read the codes for whatever ECU you have??? that seemes the most logical?

OBDI ECU = OBDI codes. <----
OBDII ECU = OBDII codes.
