car detailing question

Took me 5hrs just for the exterior. Did Mother's 3 Step. Precleaner/ Sealer,Glazer/ Wax. I took my time cause it needed it and yes, it relaxes me too. I'd take pictures, but it has been raining all weekend again. So I'll wait til i wash it again. It won't take me that long next time, since the finsih is all set up for the next time.

Wash - 20 minutes
Dry - 30 minutes
Clay (If doing) - 45 minutes-hour
Swirl Remove (If doing) - hour-hour and a half
Polish - 30 minutes
Wax - 20 minutes
Apply Dressings to tires, etc. - 5 minutes

Don't worry about taking a long time. Taking longer probably means your doing a better job than those that only take 2 hrs. They must be using a spray wax or a wash/wax combo.

i wax by hand.. no sprays... still doesnt take that long.. thats just the difference with experience

Skyler, what do you use for your wax? Where do you get it? Also when do have some free time and you can help me wax mine for the first time? Let me know.:thumbup:

i use a carnuba formula i bought at an auto show.. great stuff :thumbup: yea i could help you... i got a full detail bay available.. i'm wednesday.. if its not raining we could hook up.. just pm me

ok since we are talking about detailing....guys with polished lips what do you use to clean them?....im starting to get water spots on mine and i dunno what to use to get it off/clean them

wheel acid.. which may be harder to come by.. just use whatever product that says it removes water spots.. alot of waxes do..
