Default Block Re-sleeving

Ok as many of you have seen from my past threads I am rebuilding my D16Y8 motor as we speak. So should I re-sleeve the block? I want to run 15-20 psi.

I found this company Golden Eagle

There are a few websites out there that recommend them. So what are your thoughts?

Yeah if you want to go over a bar i would definetely sleeve. Goldean eagle is pretty good but i hear they take FOREVER and you have to constantly hound them. Hope you're not in a big rush to get your motor back. BTW what turbo setup are you running? I wanted to go fully built but i'm on a small IHI apex turbo so i'd have to replace everything. I'd get some JE 9:1 pistons and crower rods with that too

cool, make sure you have proper fuel management/tuning before you do any high boosting. Just FYI i made 176 whp 173 torque on 8 psi on a small APEXi turbo with custom charge pipes, blitz dd bov, dsm 450 injectors and a SAFC

I also ordered.......
Turbonetics External Wastegate

Spearco Intercooler

Turbonetics Racing Bypass Valve (BOV)

Lucas 440 cc fuel injectors

ERL MF2 Additional Injector Controller-- Says it will control up to 30psi

MSD BOOST TIMING MASTER - -- Up to 30psi

So after I do my engine rebuild and break it in I will install the turbo and run it at 5-8 psi for a week or until al the tunning is correct. Then I will boost 15 - 20psi and this civic should be fast or at least I hope so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will post pictures and some times once all is done.

i dont know if you know this but...jfyi...

A'pex has combined forces with IHI Turbos to create one of the most dynamic turbo kits available today. The heart and soul of he turbo kit is the legendary IHI RX6 series turbo. This turbo is variant of the IHI turbo that led Honda to the F-1 World Championships. All RX6 Turbos utilize true stainless steel ball bearings not associated with the ceramic type that is commonly used. This exclusive design reduces shaft motion to a minimum allowing quick spool up and good top end power. The result is unmatched horsepower and torque output with superior reliability. The lsamu Honda turbo kit relies on a different type of IHI turbo. This actuator type ball bearing turbo is called the A1 Tubine. With proper tuning this series turbo is capable of delivering 300+ horsepower in standard trim. All kits come complete with a cast iron exhaust manifold or tubular stainless steel [depending on application]. Wastegates, piping, hose clamps; air filter [not available in some kits], gaskets, lines and all pertaining hardware come with the kit to allow easy installation.

well....apex has about 5 different ball bearing turbos. We have the smallest one and i'm pretty sure it can't support anywhere near 300 whp it's far too small. They have bigger applications for the FD3's etc that go up to 700 whp, i have some chart of all the APEX/IHI turbo applications.
