my girlfriend is going to japan.
do you think EK type R rear seats are very expensive in japan? what about thin side moldings, power folding mirrors, ctr headlights, the yellow h4 bulbs in ctr's...
how much do you think all that would run me in US dollars?

i'm gonna give her a list in a while and ask her to give it to her dad so he can find out how cheap he can get the stuff. her dad races motorcycles in japan and a lot of his friends are car enthusiests i guess. but she doesn't come back until december. anyway. im just excited
Japan is littered with auto junk yards with all kinds of cool junk, even usable aftermarket parts. We used to hit the junk yards before anything else. We'd walk in, ask the property owners if we could look around and pay him/her cash for parts- they always said yes. I found a set of adjustable shocks, lowering springs and a K&N filter once for the Prelude I had (perfect condition), pulled them myself and paid 5000 yen (around $50.00) total for everything. The wrecked Prelude I pulled the parts off of wasn't even wrecked that bad! Oh well. Junk yards for sure. The Japanese go through cars like we go through socks!
customs will bite your ass when u get back with all that stuff

Yeah I have stuff sent Black Cat from my wife's family (Japanese- Kuro Neko Yamato) and it's a little slower getting here due to customs but as long as it's only car parts there shouldn't be any issues. Just ensure whatever she may send doesn't have any hazardous materials in it (like oils or fluids) and is cleaned up a bit. US Customs hit stuff pretty hard since 9/11 and they are sure to tag anything heavy like car parts. But once they find that it's only car parts they'll send it through. I had my brother-in-law in Japan send a touch-up pen and some Prelude tower strut bars not too long ago.
yah, man, if you get me some 96-98 ctrs, I'll definatly pay you, and then some (as long as it totals under $300).
but trust me, I'm in no hurry. December would be a good time.
