Default HELP: Civic Help Requested

I can get a civic for 3500, a 97 sedan dx, it has 120k miles on it, but i would get 17" konigs monsoon(look sweet on it), the original wheels, altezza lights(look pretty cool) and the originals, manual.

Would you recomend I get it? It's in good condition, there are a few body dings, but I have a auto body friend.

It is off a friend of mine before he leaves for college.

New clutch and o2 sensor put in it.

So it is a good deal? I am not too familiar with honda's, I had a cavalier, and if I get this will be selling tracker, I had always wanted a car for modifying and this price seems to hit what I wanted perfectly. After reading the forums here, why are altezza's so disliked, I think it gives this car a focal point because it is black and the altezzas give it a bright and attractive spot.

Ya the rims are sweet, brand new tires on them also.

I got this from another forum:

Everyone has them.
They are made by a crap company (APC).
Most would spend their $150 on engine mods.
Some just think they look bad.
Others say they hate them because everyone else does.
When kids put them on they think they have the fastest car in town.

Default Loose the Altz...

Besides the gayness, I have yet to see an aftermarket set of clear tails that even look satisfactory.

That's a lot of miles for a '97 imo.

How does it drive? Is it mechanically sound?

I'd buy it for that price.

It is sound, Brand new clutch, timing belt, water pump, drive belt, clutch cover, release bearing, transmission cleanup, etc. that's all the stuff he did too the engine as far as fixing up in 2 years, it was bought from a teacher so before he put 10k on it, it had real good care. He kept it in garage, it does have the dent from someone backing into the side at school, but I can get it fixed for free(or really cheap) from my friend.
