Default Overheating

My 93 SI has 204,000 miles and runs well. At highway speeds (70-80mph) the temperature gauge will rise on an uphill grade. If I back off on the down hill side the temperature will return to normal. On a hot summer day, I is necessary to trun on the heat to avoid going into the red. I have replaced the radiator and am on my second thermostat.

Any Ideas on a fix???

water pump. check it. Make sure the radiator hose has pressure, if not, the pump might need to be replaced. It's not an expensive part, but its a bitch to fix.

I ghetto rigged my 86 integra when it started overheating, I just left the thermostat out, but it took awhile to warm-up and the heat wasnt as hot anymore. On a REALLY hot day in crazy traffic it would still get hot, but other than that it ran fine. not a permament fix tho.

lol, mine was doing the saem thing this weekend. The 93's had a slightly smaller radiator from teh factory. I'm upgrading to a teg radiator tomorrow. Sounds like your's might be the water pump. I had been drafting behind a semi going 90-95 for about 40 miles, and it was about 90 degrees out.
