Default V-afc Problems

I RECENTLY JUST DID A MINNI-ME SWAP ON MY OBD2 97 HONDA CIVIC CX. THE D16Y8 HEAD CAME OFF A RUNNING CAR. I BOUGHT A V-AFC INSTEAD OF THE ECU. ON THE V-AFC THERE IS A VTi AND VTo. I REALLY DONT F***IN' KNOW WHAT THEY ARE. I KNOW WHEN THE VTEC KICKS IN THEY BOTH TURN ON. I SEARCHED ON THE INTERNET FOR WHAT THEY MEANT BUT STILL NOTHING. WHEN I LOOKED AT THE INSTRUCTIONS MANUAL, EVERYTHING WAS IN JAPANESE. DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT THEY MEAN?

AND MY REAL PROBLEM IS THAT WHEN MY VTEC KICKS IN, ONLY MY VTo TURNS ON. THE VTi WOULD STAY OFF. MY BUDDY HAS A V-AFC IN HIS 94 GSR AND WHEN VTEC KICKS THEY BOTH TURN ON. IS MY PROBLEM THE ECU OR THE VAFC?

I can't answer your question, but please turn off your caps lock.

You need an ECU that supports VTEC

Vti is Vtec input which is when the ecu sends a signial to the VTEC, and Vto is vtec output when the controllor sends the signal to engage VTEC, look in your manuel, you should find it in there, if not go to www.apexi.com and it should have an online manuel in pdf format

You answered your question here. You have no vtec input, but you have vtec output. Your vtec should still be functioning.

I had the head swap done at Allaboutspeed. what they did was use the v-afc to activate the vtec.
