96 civic ex, it sounded like i had a exhaust leak so i check ed all the connections, nothing, went to the hood and it got louder,so i pulled off the heat sheild, and #1 cylinder on the manfold wan cracked rite off. why or what would make that happen? and how much to replace it? thanks

 

depends on if you want something that will give you performance or just a stock manifold

 

well just for now, i have to replace it. why did it crack?

 

dunno why it cracked.. but you could replace it with stock and then later possibly want an aftermarket header and have wasted money.. or you could just go with the header.. :dunno: up to you i guess...

i'd guess it got too hot, thats why it cracked

 

usually cast iron can crack if it gets too hot like if you were redlining for a long time or even when its hot and gets hit with cold water from rain or a puddle. change it out for a header.

 

ok, i got a price for a used one stock, 150.00 crazy, i guess i run it for now and buy a headder. what is better for civic 4-2-1 or 4-1?

4-1 you lose torque....is you had any that is
stick with 4-2-1
