throttle body?
Sadly, this should definitely be a question posted here: https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...&threadid=3298
This is a really basic question and I'm actually scratching my head cause of its simplicity... Anyhow, the throttle body is what your intake tube (not manifold) connects to. It's round and your throttle cable runs to it. It has a plate that rotates with the movement of the throttle cable called the butterfly. The throttle body is what controls how much air intake your engine gets.
That's the super simple answer. You'll probably get a better, more detailed answer if you post to the above link.
Hope it helps.

The throttle body is basically where the air from the intake goes in (and then into the intake manifold) and it has a system of "butterflies" which open and close these tubes via the throttle cable (which moves when you press your gas pedal) and depending how much air is let in the engine will rev higher.
