your uncle is a smart man! that is a very old trick, body panel metal has "memory." when you expand the metal with heat and contract it with cold the metal returns to it's original form.

Yeah, they did an expose on that stupid toy a while back on TV here. It doesn't work well, and requires patience and hardwork to get it to work acceptably.

well a hairdryer could heat it up, but not too much for the paint to come off...

Do you torch the painted side? I wouldn't want to do that.
