lmao, I think it's funny that you think that spinning your tires really hurt your car!!! I spin through 1st and part of second and all I'm hurting is my tires! The rattle is a normal occurance. IT's the heat sheild, like everyone said. Rip the ****er off, and don't worry about it.
Civic's can't do burnouts? What do you think everyone does to warm up their tires at the strip? Get hair driers out?

Burnouts do stress your axles and wheel bearings if you wheel hop... and I haven't seen many Honda burnouts that aren't peg leg.

Since that was brought up I'm just curious, I've heard its bad for fwd cars like hondas and acuras etc. to do a burnout before, that its really not neccesary, and you sometimes might be better off just going around the water box?? Does this have any truth to it? Anyone know?

Did your wheels hop when you did your burnout?? Cause that is very bad for your car...

I had a similar rattle and the long bent exhaust pipe from the rear of the car that connects to the (larger oval piece think it is a resonator) near the middle of the car had cracked and slightly separated. Start the car and shake the muffler with your foot to see if it still rattles. I could smell strong fumes near the door area also.

Luckily my dad knows how to weld and he fixed it.

Hope this helps.
