dang thats low. mine engages at 5500 and goes all the way to 9000:jawdrop:

I heard its more around 5500 for the sohc's, i think in the DOHC motors its at 4800 and 5500:thinking:

5200RPM is what I have always heard, but I very well may be wrong.

at WOT a Z6 opens at 4800, while the Y8 at WOT opens at 5500.

how about installing a vtec lite and then you'll know exactly when the D16Y8 vtec kicks in. this way u won't have to guess around.
