another engine swap question
i know there have been a lot of discussions about engine swaps. but i still can't figure out whether i want the b18c or the h22 in my 2000 ex. i know the engine prices but i can't seem to find out the total costs. i realize the b18c is more expensive than the h22 but the h22 needs a mounting kit, tranny, supension work, a new hood (i wanna keep the a/c and p/s), etc.... so does anyone know the total cost (roughly) of a b18c swap and the h22 swap with all the parts and labor (i can do the suspension work and simple stuff like that but the rest i need done at a shop). i realize the kind of question this is but it would realy help. thanks.
Costs vary a lot man. It all depends on what you do to the motors before you put them in and how much you can do yourself and what tools you have to buy/rent....
I suggest going to the hybrid forum and asking them. They're the gurus on this.
I've spent over $5000 on my B18C1 swap but I've completely rebuilt it and had machine work done. I actually haven't spent that much for what I've done... Just go out and find the parts and stuff on the net and add it all up. That should give you a rough estimate at least.
