Default my car = teh dead

Right now at least.

Started hesitating yesterday, only thing i could think of was that I filled it up with gas ... thinking maybe the gas station was recently filled and i have too much water in the gas lines.

Well anyway, the car was hesitating between 500-2000 RPM's when the gas was pressed anywhere near aggressively. Cleaned the dist cap, the dust clutch, and started pulling the spark plugs. the first one i pulled was dirty as fawk... a dry black, running rich i guess. cleaned it off, sprayed it off with carb cleaner -- oh whatever. torqued it back down to spec

got to the pulled the second, when pulling the wire out, I noticed it was wet -- water -- i was like :wtc: but i kept with it, pulled the plug out, it was wet to ? That plug was just as filthy but wet.

I decided to stop right there. I'm going to Advanced to get some fuel treatment in the morning , and 4 new OEM plugs __ I had Bosch Platinum +4's in there.

oh, and while pulling my dist cap off, one of the 3 screws/bolts broke off... I was like WTF!!!!!!! :madfawk: stupid bolt. It was rusty too, the others were not. So now I have to go see if i can get it out of there, or tap a new one in. That, and the fawking Honda dealer won't be open till tuesday. Thats means even if i do get it out tomorrow, i can't replace it till at least tuesday.

I'm a loser, i work on my car on a Saturday night

HOLY SHIAT!

Shaun, how long has it been since you've been around on HAN?!

yea, i saw that pic of the jetta on the Vdub forums a while ago when you linked me

I replaced the plugs with OEM NGK's -- the car runs MUCH better now. The Bosch's were burnt to a crisp, my car was running rich. I don't think the bosch's gave a hot enough spark.

I also added 24 oz's of fuel treatment, basically to remove the water(two 12oz bottles).

All's good in civicland,

cept my A/C still needs fixing
new front brake pads are on the way, and need replaced, bad almost metal on metal.:happysad:
