Default e-brake handle

I am wanting to replace my stock 2000 civic si e-brake handle. I am not sure if you are able to remove it. I pulled and twisted and still nothing. If you know let me know. I want to order an e-brake handle and the auction ends soon.

Use a heatgun to melt the glue under it, and then hit it with a vise-grip and twist and pull
