I actually have two questions:

I have a 99 Civic Dx with the crappy stock D16 non- Vtec engine in it and looking to make a swap. The only problem is that the car is an automatic and while I can get B16 and B18 engines just about anywhere I don't know what kind of transmission to get since I've never seen an automatic tranny that goes along with those engines. Please advise on this problem.

Other question is I am looking to get H&R spring (about 0.75" drop) what shock set-up would be good for that kind of drop? (any price range is fine)

getting a manual transmission into your car is np and anybody doing a swap should be able to do this as well...

 

you could get a jdm b18c auto

 

if i am not mistaken and someone please correct me if i am wrong but the tranny mount are the same on a auto and manual in you year civic so that will be no problem and as for swapping trannies all you will need to do is get clutch lines pedal assemble clutch and master cylinder(which i could get allof that for you) you will also need the shift linkage and shifter. the only other part you will need to know is the wiring which you can use the auto to manual HOW TO at this site www.4bangercity.com for a reference which is for a 5th gen but the concept is the sam for the part about what you need to wire by the shifter
