How do the other H/B's compare....

Hello all, :wavey:

Well... I'm thinking more and more about buying a civic h/b in the near future. While my DSM is quick and fun, its constant mechanical hiccups are becoming irritating, and more importently... raising insurance and a now longer commute is killing me. (think mileage in the mid teens/per gallon)

So anyway, I was thinking about getting a civic h/b. Now speed isn't really a thing for me, thats what the DSM is for, but how about handling? Over in the teg forum people talk about how any lower class teg can never have as stiff of a chassis as the ITR. How about the USDM h/b's compared to the CTR? Is there major structural changes that you could never equal here with the parts availible or would it be possible to construct a civic h/b that would handle competently?

What would be the h/b years to look out for? Sorry for the longish post... the only experience I have with hondas is my 87 Accord beater :D

any 5th or 6th gen hatch ('92-'01) can be stiffened up probably as much as you need to be. I dont' know about ctr reinforcements or anything, but I'd imagine f&r strut bars and tie bars would do the trick, structurally. Get a good brand, tho (neuspeed). good luck! :)

for about 1200 it can handle like a beamer or a race car

Lower it, get Strut Bars and Tie Bars, perhaps some Sway Bars, and it will handle like a dream.

sway bars make the biggest difference overall, theyre just expensive so these guys put em off till last.

whats this bit about the ITR vs lower models? i thought it was all the same car with stripped out furnishings and added suspension components?

There's also the moonroof issue, since the ITR is the only Integra without one. But I'm sure of all people, you don't need to hear about that one ;)

99.9% of people have no idea about structural dyanmics. some guy said the other day he wouldnt buy a dc sports tie bar cuz it had holes in it
