Yeah although 89 solves your problem for now, the engine should usually only need 87 to run correctly so I would get the motor checked out. Is your timing advanced? Get a valve adjustment if you are at one of the tune up intervals also. :thumbup:

:werd:

the dohc vtec engines pretty much require 91+

most other honda engines run fine on 87

Yeap! That and I'm pretty sure my motor was used to a higher octane back when it was chillin' in JDM land. I had to make sure I'd be at least close to it. 94 Sunoco :goodjob:

yeah, my '90 accord ex required 89, but that was pre-vtec days.

the latest odysseys use 91 also, unless you want a tad less power.

I think the AV6 (at least the 6th gen) can get away with 87, but I :dunno: what my dad uses for it.
