Default grinding in 3rd

When i shift from 2nd to 3rd i gring third when i enter it. I have the clutched pushed in all the way too. Any one have any idea what it could be? It kinda feels like a drill on my teeth or something when it happens, kinda scary.Any help would be appreciated thanks

I'm going to guess it is the synchros. Honda tranny's are known to grind 3rd

Do you leave your hand on the shifter while cruising? That'll wear out your synchros quick. My friend used to shift and leave his hand forward with lots of force. I freaked out when I caught him doing it. I was like, "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?" He said, "What? this?" as he pushes the shifter forward over and over and the car's making a really weird noise. I was like, "STOP, you don't have to keep doing it!"

i took the car to get it checked out today. My car is certified btw so i dont have to pay for this. Turns out that the whole thrid gear is shot all the bearings are gone, they are going to replace it all. Total cost is around 1200, i told them there is no way i would pay for this, because i can buy a full b16 swap for like 2700 or so and it would be around 3500 for it installed. So why would i do this, anyways... any idea how to make it so this wont happen again? And no i dont put force on the shifter when i cruise.

try some synchromesh tranny fluid, might help for a little whole depending on how bad it is, otherwise try and find a complete tranny and throw it on, im sure you can find one and have it installed for cheaper than 1200 bucks....
