Default Upgraded to Hawk HP+ pads

Had my rotors resurfaced today and installed Hawk HP+ pads and changed the brake fluid. WOW! Talk about MORE stopping power. Last year I ran the Brembo blanks, AEM pads, Valvoline Synpower brake fluid and Goodrich stainless steel lines. Stopping power was great last year. But now I think stopping power has increased about 30-40% overall. I mean my teeth feel like they are going to leave my mouth

But I definitely don't recommend Hawk HP+ for everyday use. I've been hearing that the brake dust can pit the wheels AND they are not rotor friendly. And you have to make sure you break in the pads correctly. I do have an extra set (thanks sponsors) of Hawk HPS which are a more gentler compound.

I'll let you know in a month or two how they hold up.

i hear the those axxis ultimate brake pads are comparable to the HP+'s without the squeal you get from the Hawk's. I think it has similar brake dust build up.

I'm still using the Valvoline Synpower fluid. I was going to upgrade to silicone, but heard too many bad things. I may upgrade to Motul RFB600 fluid which has a higher boiling point and is compatible with regular brake fluid.

Well so far no squeal from my pads. You just have to make sure you use brake quiet on the pads.

the pics in my sig were takin before I washed it. the black in between the spokes are not shadows. good thing is it washes off easily.

Have you looked into ATE's Super Blue Racing fluid? It's really good stuff.

Yes, most of those pads "dust free" aren't really dust free... I just notice that the dust isn't AS dark as stock, but washes off much easier.
