Default Maintenance Question

My car just hit 30k the other day, so this weekend, I'm gonna do the required 30k maintenance. According to my books, it says I should do:

Oil/Filter Change
Top off all fluids
Change Spark Plugs
Inspect brakes
Inspect Drive Belts
Visually Inspect a number of components

My question is, is there anything else I should do? I was thinking about replacing the pads on the brakes. Should I change the wires too (since I'm changing the plugs)? What about the distributor cap? What about the fuel filter? Any input would be appreciated.

I would do fuel filter and air filter as well. Don't worry about pads, wires or distributor cap. Save those for the 60000 mile maintenance.

the air filter is a K&N with only about 15k on it, so that is safe

its a '98 Lx....no real big plans for any aftermarket parts...this is my commuter car back and forth to work, and its an auto, so its not worth doing much to.

Isn't a valve adjustment needed at 30k?

You could do the valves, it couldn't hurt. I wouldn't worry about the brakes either, they're easy to figure out when they need changing.

I wouldn't change the cap or rotor unless you're experiencing problems with them. The plugs, sure, but other than that...

ok, cool...thanks. Are the valves hard to adjust? I've never done it before. Would it be something I could do with my Helms manual, or should I leave it to the pros? I'm pretty competant
