hmm... new fuel pump.... still no go?
hey folks,
anyone here running a 225lph on their b-series motor? are you running a fpr too?
my motor was running way lean b/c i had a strained cx fuel pump. i just popped in a brand spanking new 225lph bbk. it ran swell. for like 30 min. now its bogging and the exhaust smells like i spilled gas all over the car.
i checked my plugs: 3 were wet with fuel, 1 (#1) was hella sooty (black almost). i thought the stock fpr might have busted, so i popped my stock cx one on (good thing i still have my cx motor in my back yard ) i also picked up some plugs. still no go.
gonna go buy a fpr and guage.... anyone have any input?

Maybe you have a plugged return line, or it may have gotten kinked somehow. With the higher volume pump, it is getting way too much fuel and can't return the unused to the fuel tank. A guage will help you determine if that is the problem.

Still here... sorta...
I'm running the exact same pump as he is (he got his from me ) with the B&M FPR, gauge and new fuel line at 9.5:1 and I run just a little rich. I was running rich even before the pump, but I have a lot more control over the PSI and it doesn't lean out on me when I punch it.
I don't think the pump is the problem, once you get the FPR, gauge and line, you'll be golden.

definately just get a fuel guage. The pump is not the problem. I have a holley 255lph pump and it works great. It's definately your FPR. I would get the AEM rail with the FPR included. I have an extra B16A FPR if your interested.
