this seems odd . . .(lighting)

i didnt know led's emitted that kind of light
are these just pretty little rice lights?

actually...the LED's are very bright.

i'm just not too sure about how much light they spread out
note:: the kit is like 70 dollars. the cheapest set piaa offers but they dont really classify them as driving lights . . .. ]

bikers use them on their heads at night. pretty intense light coming from 3 leds.

I can get white LEDs up to 10,000mcd (milli-candela), which is 10 candela. Now I think that HID setups are measured in Lumens.
a lumen is a measurment of luminous flux
whereas
a millicandela is a measurment of luminous intensity
Luminous flux is kinda like a measurment of total power
Luminous intensity is how the bright the light is perceived to be, this is dependant upon viewing angle, and size of the light source.
Unfortunately you can't compare the two, which I just figured out, well, not directly at least... =(
