well the Visual part of the test went fine, welp minus the p28 ECU i was running (couldnt get my p72
h:
Comprehensive Visual Inspection: TAMPERED (ecu, and im good)
Functional Check: PASS
Emissions Test: GROSS POLLUTER :\
now i failed the emission test on high HC and CO numbers, take a look...
Idle Emission Results
HC #'s
Max- 100
GP-250
MEAS 443
CO #'s
MAX- 1.00
GP- 2.50
MEAS- 1.26 (idle-1036rpm & 1.78 MEAS 2500rpm-2588rpm)
[MEAS = amount measured] --- [GP = Gross polluter limits] --- [MAX = maximum allowable emissions]
now what could cause these high HC and CO emissions? can anyone analyze for me? i guess time for a diagnosis, any smog station will help me correct?
Thanks In advance ppl.

oh yea.... aftermarket headers (even carb exempt dc's) may not retain enough heat to warm the cat up to proper operating temps. make sure ur car is really warmed up (cooling fan comes on a few times)

yea, sounds like the ECU, and also, was it fully warmed up when they tested it or was it sitting for a while? just curious, why did you have to take it to the ref shop? those places are beotches to go to in so cali, they check everything lol....
