JDM/USDM motors, where to buy from
OK guys, I figured this can be very useful information for all of you looking to buy a new motor. Just for the record this is all my personal experience in locating a 99-00 jdm gsr motor w/ a lsd tranny, so if you disagree I don't give a shit:fawk: Anyhow I'm going to list out all the company's I have dealt with and give you some feedback on each.
hmotorsonline.com - Great guys!! Very honest! Decent prices!! They didn't have the motor I was looking for in stock, but I would have definately bought from them. Not to mention all the other people on the board who told me they were a great place to deal with. They are very knowledgable, but I wouldn't take their advice and run with it. Double check it.
Inlinefour.com - Great guys!! Very honest!! Downside is their motors are a bit more pricey compared to most other palces because they don't buy them in bulk. But again another place I wouold have done business with if they had my motor.
wcperformance.com - Great guys!! Very honest!! Great prices! I spoke with these gusy and they knew their shit, very helpful, but again didn't ahve the motor I was looking for.
jaydm - Great prices, but the guy seemed a bit cocky? Just didn't send me the right vibe, I don't think I would have done business with him, but if he had the motor, I prob would have. Just because I was getting desperate.
jdmfaze - still questioning them, but I think they were good guys.
Anyhow those are the places I would have bought from... next are my personal favorites tho!
jspecauto - Pricks!! Lied to me! But good prices:fawk: Anyhow this one I DO NOT recomment! To make a long story short, I called him and he said he had a few of the motors I was looking for... anyway.. it took him about 1 week just to get the invoice right, right motor tranny,etc. I ahd to call and harass him just to get it. Next after waiting almost 3 ****in weeks he finally sends it. I was on his case the whole time. So I call the shipping company to make sure everything is right, since he ****ed up 3 times already, and I found out he was shipping the motor to my ****in house! When I told him specifically I was having someone else do it and I gave him the address. So I corrected that and get a call an hour later and he said, "you wanted a 99-00 motor right?" Me, "yes" Him"ooo, I'll call you right back" Anyhow he calls me back and says damn we are shipping you a 97!!! WTF.. damn prick!! I told him to give me my money back. And I will give him credit there. I got my money back almost two weeks later because he said fedex will be quicker than a wire tranfer... ****in moron! K got that off my chest... and next we have... another canadian company...
osakamotors - Lied to me!! But very good prices!! Told me they had a few... called them back and was like listen.. I heard some abd stuff about you, etc., etc. and he was like ya people talk because we ahve the best prices... so Iw as like ok do you have this motor... he told me to hold... and came back and said no we do not. LOL I called the day prior and they had a few?
Anyhow I'm sick of typing, but I hope this helps some of you guys out there. As for the rest of company's I called from doing a search in yahoo. They weren't bad, but I would not recommend them over the 5 above. Those were the only people I would ahve dealt with.
Oh and where did I get my motor from? Some kid in PA w/ a connect in Japan:thumbup:
