If your idle goes because of an electrical or mechanical failure, 9 times out of 10, your car will throw a Check Engine Light. Check your coolant level. If you run low on coolant, it will affect your idle because the AIC motor and the throttle body rely on coolant temperatures (among other things) to regulate the idle speed.

haha. something similar happened to me a few months ago...battery light came on, so my boyfriend tightened the terminals...and it went off....i started driving again, and it came back on....then the check engine light came on, my radio was going on and off, my headlights were blinking, my rpms started jumping all around then they stopped at 0rpm and the mph was at 0 (As if the car were off) ... then it did shut off! it was my alternator (2nd one in a year!):bs:

u better figure out what it is b4 it lets u sit, in a dark parking lot, in the rain, at night....like me!
