Civic hatchback with Type R motor
HEy you guys I've actually never posted here in the civic forum, so some of the questions I ask might be a little basic. Well I have a 95 Integra GS-R right now , and I was thinking of selling it, and getting a 92-95 hatchback, and then buying a type r motor to put into it. Are you guys familiar with what hatchback/type r hybrids run ? And Also, how hard is this swap ? Do you know where I can find detailed instructions ? Lastly, What is the weight of the 92-95 civic hatchback, and what is the weight of the 92-95 civic 2 door coupe ? Thanks alot.

yea were just slow, this isnt honda-tech. i say go for it, i think civics are nicer than integras anyway in the sence that they look better IMO and perform better when fitted with integra parts, go wiith the civic. B18C5-EH2 on honda tech has the same setup your talking about and runs 13.3, i love that car

I would stick with the teggy *ducks from other civic drivers*
IMO it's a better built car (quality-wise). Sure it'll be slower than a similarly powered civic, I personally would take the slower, more comfortable teg over a civic. Depends on what your goals are of course in the end.
BTW, a 92-95 CX hatch weighs about 2200-2300lbs. I had a JDM B16 in mine before I sold it and it was QUICK, so that C5 in a hatch will be very nice.

my GSR swap moves my cx pretty good so an aditional 20hp or so couldnt hurt 
, like i said b4 id go with the civic cause it doesnt have all the fancy stuff that you can live w/o (i hate not having tilt wheel and intermitant wipers though

a 1993 civic cx hatchback weighs 2094 HERE , and i highly doubt a 13.3 pass with just a type r motor, possibly 13.7-13.8. My buddy has a gutted 93 cx with the jdm b18c motor (180hp) with i/h/e and ran a 13.9 at 105. Its one fierce combo, but low 13's is a bit far fetched.

I don't see how the teg is bette build. unless its a type R that is. Both by the same manu. I would go with the civic. Its not that hard of a swap. you will need engine mounts and all that kind of good stuff. I know of cars with the same swap that run low 13 but they have cams and lots of engine work so I think high 13's are more like it. good luck
