Default sohc turbo question...

what should my timing be around? stock is 16+/- 2 degrees.

i would think to retard 1 degree?
also crucial, did you buy an oil catch can? i need to buy one and i'm looking for one with a baffle

stock boost = stock timing

People will disagree but at 4-5psi; it's not needed.

i guess detonation is not a huge issue in stock boost...
by the way. could you retard the timing and go to 87 octane boost?

87 octane!? In a turbo car? I wouldn't EVEN think about it.
Run premium and aim for stock timing. Only retard your timing if your plugs are looking white or metallic.

Yep, nothing less than 93 for me. I wouldn't even touch 87 if it was the last thing on earth.
