Why? Would you be afraid that it would loose it's lightweight properties if you painted it? It's for the sleeper look, I would be more impressed by a color matched CF hood then an unpainted one.

i've seen carbon fiber that has die infused in it, so it has a somewhat tinted look to it, is that what you're talking about

THat sounds weird.... Might look cool tho. I dunno, if I got a cf hood, I might paint it like 96cpe, I think that looks kinda cool.

Those dye infused ones look pretty stupid, they stick out way too much... like spraying your roof with green marking paint.

Why not just get a fiberglass hood if color matching is an issue? Wouldn't it be cheaper than the CF hood? I could understand if there was a certain design that were only available in the CF hoods that they don't make in fiberglass, but if painting was an issue, why not just get the less expensive hood?

Depending on the CF hood's design it may be a whole lot lighter than fiberglass.

mugen now makes a fiberglass hood that they claim is lighter than any carbon fiber hood on the market, i'm interested in seeing if these claims are true

and yes i the dye infused carbon fiber products are kinda stupid looking, but i was curious if that's what the guy was looking for
