what is this noise while I'm driving

it sounds like it is from the from left wheel. when I drive it sounds like something is scraping every rotation the wheeel goes cuz the faster I go, the faster the noise gets... any ideas? I don't think the brakes are dragging... cuz its pretty consistant.. even when I hit the brakes.. the sound of the scraping will start to slow down.
I figured if it was draging then minute I hit the brakes the scraping will go away...

any ideas?

i know i post a lot of problems.. thanks for everyone's help.. my car is a piece... with a nice exhaust :D

What kind of wheels and tires do you have? What's your drop? What suspension components do you have?

Not to scare you, but my brother had the same problem in his bone stock '00 Teg. Ended up having to replace both front axles.

It would be very apparent in parking structures, b/c the sound would bounce off the walls. Once up to normal speeds road noise and other cars would drown out the sound. We checked the CV boots and they looked fine. The techs at the dealership had to look at it for almost 30 minutes before they figured it out.

dood this is crazy but mine is doing the same thing.......its coming from the front left tire....im thinking it has to do with the brakes but i cant figure it out either.

wheel bearings? have those checked out

if not, it may be the power steering pump, mine is about to give out and is causing this noise on the left side also.

i dont think its the brakes, but id like to mention when the squeeler activates on a car it usually squeels when you're _NOT_ using the brakes, and immediately stops when you apply the brakes. i let it go on my s10 and got to buy new rotors, it was great.

if thye wree just replaced, (and actually like i said, i dont think this is the brakes) it could be just rusting up at night in the dew, thats pretty normal. do they get real sticky when its squeeling?

what gets really sticky?? if you are talking about anything with brakes i really don't think its them like you said. I will have this squeeling when I'm driving in the morning, nite, on the highway, ANYWHERE> its there and won't go away.
