sounds like it.. i've never dealt with hyrdolock personally but i think if you do, the only way to save it is to crank the motor so the water gets pushed out? im not really sure, but ive read a few threads about it.. if you dont get the water out soon after the ingestion, i think ur SOL.

never. my current car comes with a CAI system from the factory but it's designed not to cause hydrolock h: unless I drive through a river that is.

almost....water was in the engine...but i shut it off before the damage could have been made.

i drove through a DEEP puddle...4 of them actually. h: the 4th one did it.

went back this morning to try to start the car, found the problem, nice sized hole in the block. i think its probably due to hydrolock, but this means either hunt for new car or engine swap time. ill keep everyone posted

A guy who's car was at a local import shop was being swapped because he hydro-locked his motor. Well kinda. . The dumbass drove through mud causeing mud to fly into his motor instead of air! Totally messed his motor up. :doh:

How could mud get through the filter I don't understand how this would be possible unless he had no filter, period. Mud would be too viscous to get past the element.

:dunno: I guess it was probally a very thin water mud. The intake was covered with mud. It was a Ice-man intake.
