What should i check for before buying it?

All the typical things for an 02-05 Civic Sedan.

Timing belt (even if the car you're interested isn't at 100K miles, you're due based on time).
Evidence of routine oil, transmission fluid and coolant changes.
Decent alternator output.
No rust; clean drain bungs.
No hidden accident damage.
Etc.

Also listen for noisy suspension on your test drive, the 7th gen civics/EL's had bad luck for struts failing, otherwise a great car! If you buy, check out clubel.com as well.
