B18C1 in Del Sol?
Yep..... and a very good swap for the delSol. I would look online at the Parts trader. Where abouts in Wisconsin are you located? If you are somewhat close to Chicago, or are willing to drive there, Garage Kwai can get pretty much anything.
good luck finding a b18c1 complete changeover for less than 3000, but with the money you have i would save up a little more and get a c1, which will run you around 3300, or you could get a b16a2 or a3 which will run you about 2400.
if you've got a 96 or a 97 del sol, watch out for B18C1's that are 98-00.......... the wiring is a royal pain and it'll make you insane. Stick with the 96-97 B18C1 ECU (the 96-97 sol's harness is WAY different from the 00 GSR engine. trust me on this one. my guy in the shop is just regretting he ever HEARD of me right now b/c of this crap). my B18C1 swap should be done by friday nite/saturday morning but we'll see.... (it was supposed to be buttoned up 2 weeks ago but the engine seller didn't ship alot of the parts like he was supposed to- like motor mounts, axles, and down pipe- and then alot of the hoses point in the wrong direction - radiator & AC hoses - and now the ECU + wiring differences - MAJOR differences........). it "fits" in the bay, but making it run is a whole different game of chess.
if you're a do it yourself kind w/ the tools and space to do it you can get an LS engine or a B16A2 for roughly $2400 + shipping from http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/ for a complete change over. If you're going to get it done at a shop figure on $1000-$1300 for the labor (depending on the shop + the required "tidbits" like extra parts, welding, blah...). typically if a shop has to fabricate or weld something the charge runs up.
