Default Taking Out Airbag?

I got a '99 SiR... same as us Si

I was wondering if anybody has taken out there steering wheel and if so how and was it hard.

I've got a Momo from my CRX and I just bought the hub so it will fit my civic... and dont have anymore cash to pay someone to take out my OEM steering wheel.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

I don't have much useful information, as I have not done it myself, BUT...if you decide to go mess around with it to see if you can get it off, make sure you disable the airbag! There should be a "safety" for it on the right side of the steering column with a little cover over it. Maybe that will help a little bit.

Disconnect the battery, then there is an access panel on the bottom of the wheel. Take that off and there is a little plastic clip on the cover panel. Take that off. Then inside the wheel, there is a yellow cable. Unplug it and stick the red clip from the cover panel into it. You have just disabled the airbag. Now, go to each side of the wheel and take the cover panel off again. There will be a torx screw on each side. Take those out, and the air bag will fall out. Then the steering wheel is a 19mm. You're done.

can you just disable the airbag and leave it in?

also, is there a similar way to disable the passenger side bag?
