my trunk fiber board got all cracked and fell apart. I'm gonna try and goto home depot, find a sturdy piece of plywood, cut out the pattern and replace it. My spare is a bit too big so i have a slight bulge in the middle of my trunk (i have the stock 14" steelie in there) driving on a donut just doesn't seem appealing to me.

i've got a bazooka tube in my LX. it came powered. got it pretty cheap to...about $80 a while back. i would say if you want decent bass, and lots of space in your trunk this is the way to go. the only problems are that the straps that hold it in place loosen every once in a while, and you may wanna put in some of the dynamat or whatever it is called to loose some of the vibration in your trunk. people are acutally pretty suprised how much bass it puts out. the 8in. is supposed to be comparable to a 12in sub or so i hear.

honestly... i would rather spend the money on something like JL Audio 8.1 micro setup. get something like an alpine MRP-T130 amp (under 150$ for amp) and at least your getting quality pieces. I am personally not a very big fan of bazooka but thats just my opinion. the 8.1 is small enough where you will still have a lot of trunk space and if you ever want to sell it you can probably get more money for the alpine/JL setup over the bazooka.

Just my 2 cents

I had the bungee cord to the rear bar setup in my old car too. It works just fine and it makes it easy to remove the sub for autox, drag, and carrying large amounts of cargo. My setup was a small sealed 10" and my amps were mounted to my backseat. I still had a good amount of trunk space so it's something to look into. One thing about Bazooka tubes is that, and correct me if I'm wrong, they're a ported design. That's fine but it really depends on what kind of music you'll be listening to, and, if it's not a self powered tube, what kind of amp you'll be using.

Maybe someday I'll put my old system in my current car... But I too have the messed up trunk board and I'm running no spare, so it's pretty unlikely.

I just have a Q-logic box, you can take it out when you need the space, it's not too difficult. But for ymself I have enough room for when I do need to travel.
