Default New struts recommendation

I just need to replace the front struts on a 7th gen 2001 EX Sedan (leaking). Car is totally stock. Would I be better buying something like a tokico brand strut and taking it to a shop that installs 3rd party parts? How would it affect the car's performance if I had OEM in the back and tokico in the front. Also what is the best place to buy online?

The local Stealership quoted $969.94 for parts and labor to replace both front struts and an alignment.

We have the KYB's available. These are the oe replacement struts. Labor shouldn't be anymore then 4 hours at an average of 80 an hour.

Those 7th gens seem to blow struts all the time, I'd have no reservations about straying from OEM and going with something like a KYB or Tokiko. I assume you have zero aspirations for modding the car (lowering springs, etc)?

The KYB are great, and I almost always use Monroe Sensatracs. Also, not that tough to do yourself. Buy a spring compressor, follow the directions, and BE CAREFUL. Use the safety hooks on the compressor. I haven't paid to install struts for years, except on the rear of my accord when a bolt broke.
