How much money can I expect to pay for a complete B18b1 enigine swap into a 92-95 civic hatch?

 

i'd say about 1800 to 2200 at the most.

 

For a complete swap? Are we talking motor, transmission, ecu, fluids, filters gaskets? Are we including labor?

 

I would say 4,000 for a LEGIT b18 and 500 to put it in....

I was gunna do a b18c1 engine swap but now im debating...

But I say you just swap it in yourself...I have some good instructions and i plan on swapping myself...I am sure if i need any answers along the way people on Honda-Acura or other sites can answer them....goodluck

 

hmotorsonline.com sells a complete b18b swap for $2200. I plan to do the same swap, but want to get it cheaper somewhere. Any other places sell it for cheaper? Labor im guessing will be around $600. Just get a few car guys together, a few from this board that did it before and do it yourself and you save $600.

 

get a b18c1.....an h22a is bullshit...and the b20 is hard to maintain.....i say about 2 g's for a b18c1...if you kan put it in yourself...which i was palnning to do

 

where are you getting these prices??

you can find a b18b for around 1800-1900 and depending on how much maintainance you plan on doing while the motor is out for example water pump tensioner pully timing belt plugs and wires any seals and gaskest (prime time to do a head gasket even if it dont need it) distributor rotar and cap ect ect ect. add around 6 - 700 more

then if you install it yourself you pay 0

if someone installs it for you you should pay no more than 500 - 600 for them to do it.

so you are looking at somewhere around 2800-3000 installed by a shop or 2300-2500 if you do it your self

 

i got the price from nippon motors i believe...where you see an engine for 1800??? hit me back

 

out of the 4 b18b's in a civic that i hang out with here in town non of them have paid more that 1850 plus shipping they were all bought from personal sellers who ran shops somewhere in the US. only one of them got f*cked but even after he got f*cked the guy he bought it from refunded him for some of the money.

just do your research and i am sure you can find a good deal the main thing is to ask as many ?'s as possible about the motor get as picky as asking if it includes an intermediate shaft a starter an alternator ecu axles map sensor distributor etc. any little piece that can be taken off and sold for money you wanna make sure it comes with the motor if he is saying its a complete swap. and pictures lots and lots of pictures. from every angle front back left right top bottom you can tell alot about a motor just by pictures. oh and you may wanna get the vin of the motor before you but it and run a carfax on it to see milage and see if its stolen or not.
