Default Stock revs 94 civic ex

I have a stock 1994 Civic Ex. If I upgraded my ecu to move the rev limiter up to 8500rpm, will I make any power past the stock redline, 7200rpm, and will the valvetrain hold up?

I doubt you will see any gains past 7200 and you're engine wasn't designed to handle those high rpms.

Exactly, you wont get any power and will just damage your engine.

The only reason anyone would want to up their redline would be if they increased their displacement and/or increased their compression ratio. Just making your redline higher on a stock engine is pointless and it WILL damage your engine. You'll more than likely detonate if you keep it up.
