98 civic speaker help

Default 98 civic speaker help

i gotta 98 civic lx, i need to take the back two speakers out but im having touble. i dont exactly know how to get them out and i dont want to muscle them out and break anything, so if u have any ideas, can i get some help..thanks

you need to take off the rear deck cover. Its held on by a number of clips. In order to get them out, you need to squeeze them with a needle nose plier and push them back up through the hole. Once you get them all out, the lid should pop right off. Then you can just unscrew the speakers and put your new ones in. If you have any questions, I can help you out.

the way I did mine:

I lowered the rear seat. I popped off the front of the rear deck (the back seat covers this part when it's raised). Then I just pulled it up h:

it takes some effort, but trust me, it's difficult to break anything back there. Careful if you have tint. After its off, install should be common sense.

BTW, get a Haynes manual or something comperable.
