With less than 130 hp, these cars weren't designed to have rims that size on them, i'd rather have 15's or 16's. 17's will screw up his gas mileage even more, his speedometer wont be as accurate and it will also slow him down even more. What in the world is the point of having 17's on a civic?
The weight of the rim itself has more to do with that than the size. Plus, if you keep around the same diameter for the rim & tire it won't make a difference. The point in having 17's on a Civic is that some people think it looks nicer than having small 16's.

i'd be weary of driving a honda at that school nowadays. Cars are being stolen daily at that place. Just a heads up.

paint your darn door handles and molding... and take those odd looking side skirts off... the reason they dont flow is because your front has smooth lines as well as your rear... is that a black widow kit in the back??? cant tell... anyway... the skirts have hard lines... and that doesnt match... the rims are koo but they do look a bit big... maybe if you lowered it a bit more they would look more uniform... i like gunmetal with that colour though...
