Default Driving tactics

Alright. I have a driving question: Is double clutching/rev matching worth the effort? In my driving experience, which included semi trucks, dump trucks, old cars, as well as new cars, I have always double clutched downshifts, just because it made it easier to shift, and I though it would preserve the syncros. So is it worth it to double clutch in my EJ6? Or is it a waste of time and effort?
Thanks.

meh, I'd double clutch a dog box, but with helical cut gears and modern synchros I don't bother. Though I don't do very many harsh down shifts, mostly just gentle engine braking approaching a stop light/sign etc.

That's basically what I do. Engine braking. Nothing to extreme.
