Clutch chirping sound
Hello all. I know I have been asking a load of questions of late, but I've got one more:
My clutch was replaced about 20,000 miles ago at a Honda Dealer (this was before I knew how to do a clutch). Ever since then, there has been a chirping sound whenever I let the clutch pedal out. One day I was messing around under the hood, the car was running, and I pressed on the rubber boot that covers the clutch slave cylinder, and the chirping stopped. I thought that it might be the slave, so I replaced that, but the chirping is still there, and even worse now. I though that it was the throw out bearing, but I would think that Honda would have greased it all properly....
Anyways, when I press on the part that the slave presses on to engage the clutch (I don't know what it's called, but I'm going to call it the clutch arm), the chirping stops, and when let off, it starts again. so I'm wondering if there is something here other then the throw out bearing that could be squeaking.
Thanks.

You mean where that little rod comes out of the slave and pushes the clutch?
I actually put a nice coat of grease on the end of the slave rod when I replaced the slave. Is there anywhere else that I might be able to grease?

I found a thread on another site. I'm going to try this, and see what happens.
Thanks.

UPDATE: Just went out to my car and sprayed a little WD-40 on the shift fork pivot, and the chirping is gone! I'm actually amazed that it was that simple. Here I was thinking that I was going to have to replace my throw out bearing, and all I needed was a 1 cent hit of WD-40. :driving:

Alright. So I oiled the pivot joint, and it has been chirp free for about a week now, but the chirp is starting to come back. So, I'm assuming that the WD-40 is starting to wear off.
So what grease should I use that will be more long term? One caveat, it has to be spray-able.
Thanks

Well, I got some white litium grease, as suggested, and it worked about as long as the WD-40 did.
However, I pick up of of these(see link), and I'm going to try it tomorrow.

There ya go.. I couldnt think of any other grease that would work out of a spray can but that'll do. If it keeps chirping then maybe there is a bird chillin in your bell housing...
