hooking up p/w and locks
anyone know a good DIY for hooking up power windows and locks to a fully manual civic ?
i got the stuff from a junked 99-00EX, and want to wire it into my 98DX.

Maybe one of the manuals (I'd say haynes, but apparently I'm the only person on the civic board with one
h: ) can help in doing this. I'm sure the dx is prewired, you just need to find where to plug it into.

im hoping it's just plug and play
i'm sorrie to inform you, but the DX's are NOT prewired for the door locks and power windows. I ended up getting the harness off of the EX model, strip the unnecessary wires and tapped into the ignition.
Without changing out the entire harness underneath the dash, it's very time consuming and difficult to have it all plug n' play.
like others sed, get a factory manual for wire coloring.. GOOD LUCK!!!

are you talking about the stock ones inside your DX doors rite now? if so, i believe there are only two wires for your speakers.
if you are talking about the wiring off of an EX then that's a different story. the wiring should consist of about 10 wires in a single harness. this harness is separated into three segments that connects with a single plug in between each door.
the first segment = left driver door (i'm talking about a two door here)
the second segment = extends from the inside of the dash, loops underneath the back of the front seats, up around to the right side of the car and stops at the quarter panel.
the third segment = right driver door.
if you only have the wiring and the female plug for the doors, then you are missing the main harness that connects the two.
if you need help, just holla
GOOD LUCK!!!
