Default cam

i have a 98 civic ex d16y8, how come cam makes more power? is it because of the design is different than stock? what other parts do i need for a cam. any other additional parts to support it?

also what is a good cam for my car?

camshafts control the lift and duration of the valves which draw in/push out air

If you get a new cam, I highly recommend new valve springs and retainers. A lot of the kits out there now offer those with the package.

-only if you go past your stock redline which most cams make more power anyways
