Default Del Sol Vtec motor

Hey guys i have a 93 Civic (Posting under buddy's nic) and I have a opportunity to get a engine out of a del sol that has vtec for pretty cheap the thing is we don't think it has a ecu or a tranny will the ones out of my car work. I think the tranny will. But unsure about the ECU cause of vtec. Anyone know for sure.

You need a b series tranny. And i think you could have your stock ecu chipped to work with the b16.

Edit: Didnt think, but is it a b series or d series vtec?

If it is a DOHC VTEC motor (del Sol VTEC), your tranny will not work.

If it is a SOHC VTEC motor (del Sol Si), your tranny will work.

Also, what kind of civic do you have??

Than yes. Your tranny will work. You could probably find an ecu for the d series vtec for cheap.

Better gearing, the si would be the best to get.
