insurance rates are sometimes cheaper for red cars. they're worse for black/dark coloured cars. Besides that, specific colours are marked on the ins. plan --> thats how they tell the diff when you call to mod your plan and you have, you know, 4 friggin civics in the family, like we do.

they'll soon be doing credit checks on you, as studies indicate people with money are less likely to make insurance claims. (theres a reason they have money, they let their cars look like ****)

if the insurance is asking the color of your car for pricing reasons they are screwing you. i have lived in houston for the past almsot 6 years, and been with 3 insurance companies...and none of them asked what color the car was when preparing a quote.
i jsut switched to www.esurance.com cause they beat my old rate by $20 every 6 months, but this ws with a $130 deductible instead of the $500 one i used to have.

anyway i dont even insure my civic right now....til i get it running...i did get a quote for my civic and accord though for kicks and it was about $2200 a year for both of them with full coverage and $130 deductibles...i am 27 male single and hav eone speeding ticket on my record.

I was just talking about color and insurance last week to a friend. She said that color made a differance. So, I called my insurance agent (State Farm). He said that they don't charge for color, and hasn't heard of any compnay that does (at least around here).

I agree – if they are charging your more for a certain color, time to switch insurance companies. Oh, I've had red, black, yellow, white, silver, and blue cars, and color has never made a differance.

Oh, I'm 23 no tickets, no accidetns, and I pay $118 a month full coverage, $100 deductable.
